YOUTH OUTREACH - It’s Not About Me - Johna Barnes
In the past several months we have tried to nail down to the youth at BVCC the message: make your faith your own, and it is not about "me". If we truly belong to Christ then our lives are not our own anyway. As we head out to the skate park, we are literally offering ourselves to be open to the work of Christ and the opportunities He presents to touch others outside of our comfort zone. Brandon stated it best this last Sunday morning when he said, "If Christ is not behind everything we do then it doesn't have any meaning." Realizing the great potential God has placed in each one of us is a great motivation for sharing His love with others.

Stanton Health Care Ultrasound Project - June 2010
In one simple project, we can provide a current model ultrasound machine for Stanton Health Care (add link to this site see under Community), which will be available for other life affirming groups to use also. One project can make a profound impact. Up to 90% of women considering an abortion choose to have their baby after seeing an ultrasound image. The cost of the ultrasound is $50,000. Through the Ultrasound Initiative, the Knights of Columbus will match donated funds, enabling us to purchase the machine for $25,000. We know it's a project that can be completed quickly with donations from our friends who share this passion for the unborn. Before I formed you in the womb I knew you. Jeremiah 1:5
BVCC make a donation of $2,451 to this project – with matched funds our contribution double to $4,902!

Paint The Town - May / June 2010
Paint the Town was a great success. There were about 18 people who prepped the home, including changing the trim and pruning trees. On painting day, 16 workers finished the job, and had an opportunity to pray for healing with the owner of the house There is a thank you card from her on the bulletin board in the foyer. This was a perfect opportunity to show we care for our community and want to be about being a part of the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven

Genesis World Mission – Garden City Community Clinic – 2009 Volunteers of the Year
During the past three years, two volunteers have served almost every week to offer spiritual care to the patients of the Garden City Community Clinic. Geri Williams and Rhonda Willoughby paired up in 2007 as a prayer ministry team and are found welcoming patients during clinic hours in the waiting room. With hugs, smiles, and prayers, Geri and Rhonda touch people at their deepest places of need. Not only have they supplemented the medical care received at the clinic, they have also ministered to volunteers and staff through their own joys and challenges. Together the two have logged over 220 clinic evenings of volunteering, representing 307 hours in this position. In addition, Rhonda served as our AP bookkeeper for about a year, logging another 62 hours of volunteer work there. Congratulations to Geri and Rhonda as the Genesis World Mission's 2009 Volunteers of the Year. Steven Reames, Executive Director, Genesis World Mission
