Genesis World Mission – Garden City Community Clinic – 2009 Volunteers of the Year
During the past three years, two volunteers have served almost every week to offer spiritual care to the patients of the Garden City Community Clinic. Geri Williams and Rhonda Willoughby paired up in 2007 as a prayer ministry team and are found welcoming patients during clinic hours in the waiting room. With hugs, smiles, and prayers, Geri and Rhonda touch people at their deepest places of need. Not only have they supplemented the medical care received at the clinic, they have also ministered to volunteers and staff through their own joys and challenges. Together the two have logged over 220 clinic evenings of volunteering, representing 307 hours in this position. In addition, Rhonda served as our AP bookkeeper for about a year, logging another 62 hours of volunteer work there. Congratulations to Geri and Rhonda as the Genesis World Mission's 2009 Volunteers of the Year. Steven Reames, Executive Director, Genesis World Mission

Chula Vista Outreach
We were blessed to have 27 BVCC volunteers of all ages, 30 bikes repaired, 5 bikes given away in a drawing, handmade rockets show off, water balloons launched, crafts made, volleyball and whiffle ball played, new friends made, God’s Word taught…AND 60 plus children blessed by the love of Jesus each night. It was a wonderful ministry experience to work together with Deer Flat Church volunteers.

Hyde Park Street Fair Prayer Station w/ Second Baptist Church September 18–20, 2009
BVCC volunteers participated in the Hyde Park Street Fair. Here’s what some volunteers shared about the experience...
"Was absolutely great, had a fun time and had the privilege of speaking with lots of people not only praying for them but reading God’s word over them. The highlight for me was, as I read the word over people, you could see the change taking place in their countenance. You could see God touching them and ministering to them through His word. One girl I read a Psalm over asked if she could come back. One other time a lady would not let me read it over her but took the Psalm and then watched as I read one over the man she was with. About a half an hour later she came back to have hers read over her. There is power, authority, healing and so much more in God’s word and I saw that in so many people while ministering at Hyde Park." Rhonda Willoughby
"My favorite story is when Dolly and I were talking to two ladies. The older gal was hesitant when asked if she had a prayer need. I told her we weren't pushing anything but it's just an opportunity. I asked her, "When was the last time anyone offered to pray for you?" Her answer, "Never." She asked us to pray for her two grandsons who have asthma - which we gladly did. We gave her a Psalm 103 about healing. As she was getting ready to leave, she carefully folded the Psalm and told me that she was going to put it up in her grandsons' room!" Scott Nelson
