BVCC Elders...
Matt Hyde
Pastor/Elder
Matt was born in Big Sky, Montana and moved to Boise in 1988. He attended Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado and graduated with a degree in Sociology and Human Services. He came back to Boise after college in 2002 and began spending time with an old high school friend Monica. The one area of her life he knew nothing about was her faith. He had no desire to know God and did not even believe there was a God. Upon following her to church a couple of times, something began to happen in his heart. God used Monica to soften his heart. He was saved after a growth group in January of 2004 when he made Jesus the Lord of his life. The more he heard about God the more he realized his life would never be the same. Matt and Monica were married in September of 2004. They served together on the Youth Ministry Team for three years.
He has great faith in God's ability and desire to change lives as he personally experienced God's power in his life. He was a drug addict and loathed religion of any kind. He has learned that forgiveness is for everyone and restoration began when he took accountability for the mistakes he had made.
Matt loves spending time with his wife and 2 sons, Liam and Micah. He also enjoys skiing, writing and playing soccer.
Matt's testimony is told in a book that BVCC published called The Ticket along with several other members of BVCC. Those whose stories are told are just a few of the many lives at BVCC that will never be the same because of their relationship with Jesus.
